How often should you decompress your spine?
5 min read

Once people feel that first light, lengthened sensation after a session, the natural next question is: how often should I do this? The honest answer is that consistency matters more than intensity. A little, regularly, beats a lot, rarely.
Little and often beats hard and rare
Your spine gets compressed every single day, so it makes sense to give it relief on a regular rhythm rather than waiting for pain to pile up. Think of it the way you think of sleep or water - not a one-time fix, a steady habit.
Many people find a comfortable groove at two or three sessions a week. Others come once a week and feel the benefit hold. There is no single right number; there is the rhythm your body settles into.
What changes over time
In the early sessions you are teaching the body something new - we are building fresh patterns, letting the nervous system learn that it is safe to let go. With Gravity Stretching, relief is often felt within the first few visits, and a steadier result tends to settle in around the tenth.
After a hang the body picks up what we call a good experience. It starts wanting to sit straighter, walk easier, move more freely on its own. Regularity is what keeps reminding it.
Listen to your body
Some days you will want a long, slow session; some days just a few minutes to undo a desk day. Both are fine. We never push through pain or a block - if something resists, we stop and breathe. The practice is meant to make you better, not to wear you out.

As always, this is a wellness practice, not treatment. If you have a diagnosed condition, are pregnant, or anything gives you pause, check with your doctor first and keep your trainer in the loop.
