How do I stop sciatica pain running down my leg?

Sciatica is not a disease in itself - it is pain along the sciatic nerve, the longest one in the body, from the lower back through the hip and down the leg. Somewhere along its path something has layered over the nerve and presses on it - a tight muscle, a tired disc, fascia that stopped gliding. Long sitting and a stiff lower back crowd it even more.

How Gravity Stretching helps

The answer is space. Decompression of the body creates space and takes the pressure off: the spine lengthens in the hang, and slow, supported stretches release the deep hip muscles that squeeze the nerve from the other side. As soon as the area is freed, relief comes - and because we work with the whole body, the load gets shared fairly instead of piling onto one spot.

Nothing is forced here. Listen to your body: if the pain is sharp and shooting, we do not push into it - we start even softer, a few seconds at a time, and let the irritation settle over a series of sessions.
