How do I relieve tailbone (coccyx) pain from sitting?
Equipo del método Gravity Stretching
Pain right at the base of the spine, worse when you sit or get up from a chair, usually involves the coccyx - the small tailbone at the very bottom of the spine. Long hours sitting put constant pressure there, and the muscles and ligaments around it tighten in response, so even after a fall has healed or the long sit is over, the area can stay tender and cranky.
How Gravity Stretching helps
Gravity Stretching does the opposite of sitting: instead of pressing down on the base of the spine, decompression in straps lengthens it and lifts the load off the tailbone area entirely. Supported, gentle stretches release the tight hips and lower back that tug on the region, so the whole base can settle and soften. The straps hold your weight, so the sore area gets a true rest.
Ease in gently and let it calm over a few sessions. This is a wellness practice, not medical treatment - if the pain followed a hard fall, is severe, or is not improving, see a doctor first.
