You can and should eat, the only question is what and when.
A simple guide
Fruit or a light snack about 30 minutes before class, a full meal about two hours before. The reason is straightforward: the practice includes hangs and inverted positions, and a full stomach makes that uncomfortable.
No need to go hungry either
The goal is never to exhaust yourself, it's to improve. If you're unsure, drink some water and just tell the trainer how you feel.

General wellness information. Listen to your body: if a pain is sharp or shooting, do not force it - tell your trainer in advance and start even softer.
