How do I relieve SI joint (sacroiliac) pain?

Tim Metode Gravity Stretching

That deep, one-sided ache low on your back, just beside the tailbone, is often the sacroiliac joint - the small, sturdy joint where the base of the spine meets the pelvis. It barely moves, but when the load on it gets uneven, from sitting crooked, long standing, or tight hips pulling on one side, it can get irritated and let you know with every step, stair and roll over in bed.

How Gravity Stretching helps

Gravity Stretching unloads the whole area: decompression in straps takes the downward pressure off the base of the spine and pelvis, while slow, supported stretches release the tight hips and lower back that often pull the joint out of balance. Because you hang and stay within comfort, the area can settle without being pushed.

Move gently and let calm return over a few sessions rather than chasing it in one go. This is a wellness practice, not a diagnosis or cure - if the pain is sharp, radiates down the leg, or follows a fall or pregnancy, see a doctor first.
